You know there’s money to be made on the internet and you are inspired by work-from-home entrepreneurs who decided to pursue their passion. But you are faced with many start-up challenges like:

The Exact Internet Marketing and Blogging System I Used to Launch Myself as a Foodie and Travel Expert, Dominate the Search Engines in My Niche, Double my Website Traffic Each Year… AND, Quit my Day Job…

Over the past few years, I’ve made important discoveries that have helped me become a respected foodie and travel expert in the Philippines.

I launched Our Awesome Planet from Start-up to ~15,000+ pageviews per day, ~5,000 readers, 2,000+ Facebook friends, and 1,000+ Twitter followers. Not bad for someone who was just an ordinary IT guy working for a multinational company.

In the process, I learned how to DOMINATE the Google searches and to at least DOUBLE my website traffic each year with confidence.

Even better is the way I FEEL. Once I learned how to market online and generate traffic for my site, I found myself having more control over my destiny and pursuing the things I want in life.

Like watching my kids grow each day.

I witnessed how my son, Joshua, started from crawling slowly to moving faster to stumbling each time he attempted to walk. At present, he is walking and starting to run to embrace me when I arrive home.

Now, I also have the freedom to bring Aidan to school and see how he interacts with his classmates. I see him mature each day, starting to talk about grooming, girls and his own awesome discoveries.

I accomplished all of these without the traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) approaches you hear about these days – like link exchange, banner advertisement or blog commenting.

In fact, the methods I used to increase my status and traffic to my site are so powerful that they altered my career and changed my family and me forever.

The methods are now skills that have become permanently ingrained into my subconscious, just like driving a car or delivering a smash shot in badminton. You just do it.

I’d like to share with you the story of how I discovered these important techniques – and how YOU can apply them to your own advocacy or goals in life.

But first, let me confess something…

I am an Internet Marketing and Professional Blogging junkie.

I bought course after course of the best gurus I could find on the Internet so I could learn how they attained success.

I was hungry for knowledge, particularly for stuff that you cannot find in universities, corporate trainings or even from colleagues in the Philippines.

I started buying eBooks in Clickbank (the biggest marketplace for informational products) from so-called “Gurus” who turned out to be sharks, who just wanted to profit from the ignorance of newbies. I still see those types of people around, so you need to be careful (even here in Manila).

Their entire business model is focused on selling internet marketing, blog marketing or search engine marketing know-how to newbies – even before they have their own successful business, applying what they are teaching.

Thankfully, I met the real black-belts in Internet Marketing and Professional Blogging, and learned from their proven methodologies and techniques.

I had an “Aha!” moment on how to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys.

I can still remember my very first educational investment on the Six Figure Blogging Course by Andy Wibbels and Daren Rowse in September 2005. Daren is a real master on the ins and outs of professional blogging. Right after I took his course, I did not realize just how much I learned and that I was applying those lessons to my own blog. It was not until the summer of 2006 that I became aware that the strategies were working - people were telling me they were loyal readers of Our Awesome Planet (OAP).

Then, I became interested in learning how to effectively market online. Personally, I wanted to promote OAP to increase traffic and brand recognition.

Professionally, I needed to learn internet marketing because the company I worked for was moving from a mass marketing approach to direct online marketing.

My first real internet marketing coach was Rich Schefren. In 2006, I became part of his Business Growth System, a 12-month coaching program.

I got hooked.

I attended live international seminars, like the 2-day Intensive Information Overload Workshop in Florida, where I met like-minded people and started forming a mastermind group with fellow internet marketers.

In 2007, I was captivated by Jay Abraham’s Masters of Passive Income strategies, where I learned leverage and the strategy of preeminence.

In early 2008, I found out about the concept of Maven Marketing during the 5-day Strategic Profits Live and Maven Bootcamp in Disneyworld Florida from both Rich Schefren and Jay Abraham.

I realized that there is a science to creating a maven persona and that I could redefine myself as a lifestyle maven.

During the Maven Bootcamp, Gary Vaynerchuck gave a speech that rocked my entire internet marketing world. One of my favorite quotes from him was this: “Legacy is greater than currency.”

It dawned on me that it does not matter how many seminars you attend but how you pursue your own legacy by focusing on what really matters to you.

My latest mentor, Eban Pagan, would often refer to this as creating a new version of you. In my case, Anton 2.0.

How I Cracked the Code to Massive Traffic and Niche Domination…

Although I attended workshops and seminars, I still wanted to know more. Given my success with professional blogging, I wanted to go to the next level and learn how to effectively market online and monetize my passions.

From 2006 to 2007, I got stuck with the idea of I-need-to-learn-a-lot-of-things-before-I-can-even-launch-an-Internet-marketing-project.

I wanted to learn different tactics, including Domain Investing, Viral Marketing and Social Media Marketing.

I was in “analysis paralysis” mode. I kept on searching for the best strategies outside when the real problem was inside.

This situation was not very profitable and I ended up wasting a lot of time on unnecessary activities. I was sucked into what others said was important instead of the things I personally believed were important to me.

I failed but I learned a lot about Myself.

I refocused my efforts on my identity and core beliefs.

I was passionate about opening the eyes of people to see the beauty of the Philippines through my blog. I decided to take it one step further, together with my Ultimate Philippines brothers, and launched high-end culinary and heritage tours of Pampanga and Tagaytay. At present, we have added culinary tours for Batanes, Quezon, and Pagudpud/Vigan.

I marketed the tours exclusively online and through word of mouth.

I’m a big fan of theater plays, specifically Broadway musicals, and I wanted to share this passion with other people also. I decided to market shows, starting with Avenue Q, West Side Story, and Hairspray in Manila. We promoted them exclusively online – one show even reached 100% in profit returns.

The Piece That Made The Entire Puzzle Make Sense…

I learned a lot from all the strategies and techniques I picked up from different gurus. I was able to apply them to OAP, which eventually became one of the top blogs on Food and Travel in the Philippines.

My single biggest realization through it all was: You need to become a Maven to win online.

What is a Maven?

A Maven is a recognized expert in a field that he/she is passionate about.

A Maven is someone you can trust even with your private information, such as where you live, because you know it won’t be abused.

A Maven is someone you can approach for advice, safe in the knowledge that he/she has no hidden agenda.
